Matthew Higdon
After a master’s degree in intellectual property law, Matthew trained and worked as a finance lawyer at Clifford Chance. He founded M Law LLP in 2003 and for the last two decades has advised a wide range of clients from tech entrepreneurs to major international brands, technology/media/telecoms interests and sports businesses  (including F1 and leading football clubs).
 
His corporate/commercial practice focuses on structured finance, acquisitions, disposals and cross border transactions, particularly in high growth TMT sectors.

Oliver Fetiveau
Oliver joined M Law in 2005.  With clients in the world of media, entertainment, retail and sport, he advises on issues of commercial contract and intellectual property rights. He is a partner of the firm and runs the dispute resolution practice.  Oliver qualified as a solicitor at Ashurst, before spending two years as in-house counsel in the music industry. Oliver is half French, and also deals with French-speaking clients.

Oliver is a lifelong supporter of Hull City football Club.
Tom Wesel
Tom is a consultant to EIK and M Law, and a barrister at Addington Chambers, specialising in the tax aspects of corporate finance, UK inbound and outbound investment structuring, offshore wealth funds, tax-efficient structuring, and preservation of private family wealth for UK and non-UK residents, and intellectual property taxation.

Tom graduated in law from the London School of Economics and completed his pupillage at Enterprise Chambers, 9 Old Square. He won an EU-wide competition to work as a lawyer-linguist for the Court of Justice of the European Union before joining King’s College London in 2005. At King’s, he was head of tax law and head of the MA degree in taxation, and taught international tax to senior HMRC officers. He was also an examiner in international tax for the Chartered Institute of Taxation and is a member of the tax faculty of the ICAEW.

In practice since 2007, Tom initially worked as a consultant for JAG Capital Advisors. He joined M Law in 2013 and co-founded EIK in 2014, contributing significantly to its international tax advisory practice.
Max Li
Max is a Chartered Accountant who founded EIK, a boutique firm, after working at PwC LLP in London. He has extensive experience advising FTSE 100 companies and high net-worth clients, and is also a qualified chartered accountant in Singapore. Max has managed audit and financial advisory projects for notable clients such as SAB Miller, Shell Petroleum, Sony, and British Telecom. His expertise includes UK GAAP/IFRS financial reporting, SOX control processes, and risk assessment for procurement, supply chain, IT, and treasury activities.


Recently, Max has focused on tax advisory for high net-worth non-UK domiciled clients, providing advice on issues such as clean capital account structuring, tax treaty application, and offshore trust management. He has also worked on tax structures for family trusts, represented Asian investors in European acquisitions, and designed financing and tax structures for Chinese real estate companies operating in the UK.
Eva Ren
Eva is an Associate at M Law. Her main practice areas include, inter alia, general corporate and commercial, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and intellectual property.  Eva supports clients at all stages of business growth with exploitation strategies, financing, brand protection, and Exit. Eva also advises clients on their contentious commercial issues.


Eva graduated from the University of Bristol with Honours. She joined M Law in 2019 and subsequently qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales. Before joining M Law, Eva gained experience working in-house in commercial banks and private equity firms in Shanghai and London.  She is well-versed in both the Western and East-Asian working and business cultures. 


Eva is bilingual and has a deep understanding of the Chinese legal system through a year of study of Chinese laws at a prominent Chinese university (Sun Yat-Sen University).
Billy Jenks
Billy specialises in commercial and intellectual property law. He focuses on working with high-growth start-ups across a variety of sectors and talent, particularly footballers. Among other roles, Billy is the Gucci Gaming Academy’s legal advisor, assisting and advising its players as they progress.



Billy spent a year in Ulaanbaatar, capital of Mongolia, where he helped transfer a school of 400 from a system of Russian-education to one of an English International Baccalaureate.
Clio Lee
Clio is a solicitor with over a decade of experience practicing in London and Hong Kong, specializing in various commercial areas and industries through roles in both private practice and in-house positions. With a bicultural background—being half Canadian and half Japanese—Clio was raised in Canada and Hong Kong and educated in the UK. She brings a global perspective to her work, effectively addressing cross-border issues for her clients throughout her career. Clio is now joining MLaw/EIK as a consultant.

Alongside her legal practice, Clio has consistently invested in and managed properties across the globe, and she brings significant experience in assisting clients with private wealth management. Her business acumen, coupled with her fluency in French, enhances her ability to address the diverse legal needs of her clients. She has worked within a variety of cultures and legal systems, including those in the UK, France, the Netherlands, Turkey, Morocco, South Africa, Dubai, Indonesia, Japan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Singapore, the USA, and China.
